RICHARD'S FIRST VISIT TO OUR PLACE

My mom never got to see our house in New Orleans in real life and I always wished she had. She loved to rearrange furniture and work on her house. She got to see it via FaceTime —and that was great. And she sent ideas from afar.
So I was very excited when Richard ( my stepdad/dad ) told us he’d be flying down to stay with us. Since mom had passed he could now travel and in some small way I feel like he brought a bit of her with him.

We did lots of driving tours. John and Richard in the front of the car chatting non-stop about vehicles, waterways, ships, pipelines, and history. I took the backseat because I can’t keep up with them.

One of the trips we did was to take a fan boat ride at Airboat Adventures in Lafitte, LA and boy was that fun. I would like a fan boat now. But I’d need some water to ride on, so skip that.

Anyway, it was December so not the typical time of year to see gators, but the day was very sunny and we got very lucky.

And since it was December we also did the driving tour of Celebration in the Oaks, where you drive through City Park all decorated for Christmas and included Santa’s Naughty and Nice lists. I was on the Nice list. John and Richard were not.
