SNOLA
On January 21, 2025 New Orleans got snow. A LOT of snow. About a foot of snow at our house. No one believed we’d see that much when the news told us snow was coming. But here it was! The first dump in 130 years!
Pepe really loved it. We put some shoes on him and let him walk around—although the snow was taller than his belly so he mostly shoveled a path through. His pond froze over, but once the ice was broken he jumped right in and started eating it. We made potato leak soup and kept dashing outside to keep measuring the accumulation. Once night came we bundled up and went out to explore. It was beautiful and quiet and white. It even stayed quite a few days. And then we did the one thing we thought we’d never have to do in New Orleans—shovel the sidewalk!
