NEW WORKS IN PROGRESS

DANCERS 30” x 30” oil on cradled panel

This is the first year in quite a few years that I will not be having a solo show at either of the galleries I show at. But that doesn’t mean I am taking any time off! I will use this year to complete commissions, deliver new batches of paintings, and even do a little experimenting.

I rarely frame my pieces, but that’s one thing I am starting to experiment with. That, some more moody colors, more evening scenes and some more glass. Stay tuned.

Since I am not going to be having any solo shows this year I will be delivering paintings to both galleries in batches. Here’s a few images of paintings in progress that make up my first batch of deliveries. New work should arrive in June ‘23 at both Cole Pratt Gallery in New Orleans and Patricia Rovzar Gallery in Seattle.

“Dining & Cocktails” (above) and “Four Aces” (below) are examples of the different ways I approach a canvas. Sometimes I use a base coat of Yellow Ochre with my paintings and sometimes I don’t. It all depends on the sign.
