SISTER TRIP

IMG_0233.JPG

As little kids, we listened to Charlie Pride —probably on an 8-track—a lot. We knew all the words but were young enough to believe that a song called "Snakes Crawl at Night" was really about snakes. The legless reptile kind.

I heard that he'd be playing at the Grand Ol Opry in June so I texted my sister to see if she'd be up for a sister trip. And off we went!

We flew in to Nashville, rented a car and drove first to Memphis. We stayed at the Peabody (they have ducks living in the hotel), toured Graceland, visited Mud Island and ate great food.

Then it was back to Nashville. We found great little bars, saw some music, and ate more great food. We even found some signs for me. And finally to the Grand Ol' Opry! It was fantastic. We bought lots of souvenirs and got to meet Charlie Pride at the end of the show. And our brother necklaces brought Kye along with.
