MEANWHILE IN THE SHOEDIO

And a Muses update! All shoes are now complete and ready to be packed into bags in preparation  for the parade on 'Thersday' February 23rd !

For those of you not familiar with Muses, this is a Mardi Gras krewe full of all ladies. How many are there? 1500? 2,000? I am not even sure. The krewe rolls on the Thursday before Mardi Gras day in a long parade in the Uptown neighborhood of New Orleans. It's 20+ floats, marching bands and smaller krewes mixed in between bigger floats. It's thousands of people gathered —kids and families too—waiting to see the spectacle of the floats and ( hopefully ) catch the coveted Muses shoe.

The shoes are the trademark throw of Muses. Each lady on each float makes about 30 of these shoes and by the end of the night they've all gone to happy homes.

Seriously, my favorite time of year!
All hail Muses!
